In the 2023-2024 academic year the Emory Physics department began the process of revamping the core graduate curriculum. The statistical physics course was lightly re-imagined, moving a bit away from some traditional topics in statistical mechanics to try to emphasize more broadly the way we connect thermodynamics and phenomenological studies of phases and phase transitions with statistical physics, both in mean field and renormalization group descriptions.

If you’re interested you can see the 2024 syllabus here, along with a nicely TeX’d set of lecture notes for the class.
